The following question is from Linda B.
“How do you motivate a 7th-grade boy who sees absolutely no value in school? He puts forth little to no effort in any subject (but most especially math), and we end up in a battle of wills every day.
I have tried every tactic I can think of and am not seeing any noticeable improvement. His attitude sucks the joy out of homeschooling and makes being fully present and available to teach his sister very difficult.
He LOVES to read and has no problem doing the work, he simply does not want to do it. Is this just a teenage thing or the beginning of something far more serious?”
